JJ’s tip of the day
I started training with Jemal Jones at Steve Nash Sports Club last April.
He literally changed my life.
I have always liked being active and working out but I never saw true results until we started training.
Gone were the arduous cardio sessions. Instead weights were a mainstay in my workout routine.
I lost weight and gained muscle, strength and coordination and actually changed the shape of my body.
I just wanted to pass along a couple of tips that I picked up from JJ.
-3 litres of water a day
-fish oil – 2 tablespoons a day
-Cardio – 5-6 days a week – this includes walking (any activity that is a part of your lifestyle)
Daily reminders:
-Engage the core gently always (Kegals, draw the stomach slightly also)
-Posture – chest up, shoulders bcak and down
-Stretch after every activity
-Sleep – gets your Z’z. Preferably 8 hours a night.
-NO ALCOHOL – if you really want to succeed, limit your alcohol consumption to once a week if at all.
*when I first started training with JJ last year I stopped drinking for 10 weeks - just before my trip to Barcelona – I actually felt amazing and was able to up my training level like never before.
-Treat yourself – pick a day that you will not be strict with your diet once a week.
*after 3-4 weeks of training you won’t even want a cheat day because you are working so hard the other days it seems like a waste AND you stop craving the bad stuff as soon as you start getting into a healthier routine.
Thanks to Jemal, I now believe that anyone can reach their fitness goal with the will, proper guidance and consistency.
